The Studio

The transformation. The clients was looking to convert the garage into a spacious art studio. It is a detached slab on grade garage. The whole space was stripped down right to the framing. Assessed any structural issues as need be and go from there. Since the will become a conditioned space it required the whole building envelop to be completely insulated. With that in mind had the slab on grade had to be built up, insulated and closed to insure there was no heat loss through the slab. The clients had the idea in mind to keep the space as spacious as possible so we did cathedral ceiling with tongue and groove pine for a nice warm feel. New windows and skylight to allow more natural light into the space. New led light fixture to illuminate the studio as needed.
